Erin's Blog

This was my second project in illustrator.  We had to 'dissect' our name in a font of our choice, using the terms we had learned about different fonts. The font I chose, Footlight MT Light, had a lot of serifs and was very curvy. There weren't any crossbars or straight lines, which made this project a little bit more difficult. The design I used for this project was based off of this image I found:

This is the first project I have done in graphic design. I combined what I had learned in the flower tutorial  and the 'ugly' color wheel to make a flower-color wheel.  This week in graphic design, we have been learning mostly about color psychology and the important of colors. For example, the color green gives a fresh, clean look, and the color red is romantic and dramatic.  I tried to make my color wheel look professional, like a a logo you would see for a business. It was my first time using illustrator, so I still have a lot to learn, but i enjoyed working in it.

Hi! My name is Erin Johnson. I'm a freshman at Olathe Northwest. Right now I am in a program called e-Communication, where you learn graphic design, animation, film, and web. Outside of school I do dance and track. My hobbies are drawing and some photography. I have taken photography and animation classes outside of e-Comm. I hope to have a job as a graphic designer in the future.

This is my e-Comm promo. I would change a lot about it. I would take less shots of people in front of computers, and ending shots. I would also find better-fitting music.

This is an action-chase scene video I made for E9. It's about a girl who is late to class.

This is a project that we did in film class. It was supposed to be about printing, and how to print. I think that getting shots and making a storyboard was fun, and editing was pretty easy for me.  Next time I make a video, I will try ti make it more interesting and have more of a story. I will also remember to not pan so much and keep the camera steady. Finally, I will get more closeup and interesting shots.
